Art in the Woodland Garden

Sardana

This sculpture was inspired partly the by my Grand Daughter Hannah who loves all kinds of dance, and by my Parents who were introduced to the Sardana dance in Catalunya in 1956 and never forgot it. Everyone can join in but the steps are precise. Here I imagine very little children copying the adults who, to the child's eyes, tower over them. The adults here are women as is so often the case in Scotland but the wee boys join the girls to dance in the forest.

The sculpture is made almost entirely from textiles which I have been converted to concrete by my own process. This makes it durable in all weathers. If anybody wants more information I can be contacted at andy@kilmunart.co.uk. My Facebook page can be found by googling "Andy McClintock sculptor". Examples of my work can be seen locally at the Blairmore Gallery, Blairmore, The Bute Gallery, Rothsay and the Seagull Gallery, Gourock. I am happy to discuss commissions for work.
