Inveraray Castle is the ancestral home of the Dukes of Argyll and is open to the public.  Fun can be had visiting Inveraray Jail and a selection of activities can be undertaken at Argyll Adventure just to the south of the town.  There is a swimming pool at the Loch Fyne Hotel.  Click here for Inveraray.

Head for Dunoon and the Cowal peninsula where you can go quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, swimming or take to the hills for slightly gentler walks.  Click here for Visit Cowal.

For some challenging walking head towards Loch Lomond and try the Arrochar Alps.  Beinn Bhuidhe (which can be accessed from Glen Fyne), Beinn Ime, Beinn Narnain, Ben Lomond, Ben Vane and Ben Vorlich are all Munros.  The Cobbler is often thought to be the most challenging although not actually a Munro.  Please make sure you go properly equipped as the weather can be changeable.

The natural environment of loch, hill and woodland is a haven for wildlife with porpoises, otters, deer, red squirrels, pine martins and many species of rare birds regularly seen.

However you decide to spend your time during your visit you will always be met with beautiful views and friendly locals.
