Scottish Rhododendron Society
The Scottish Rhododendron Society is a chapter of the American Rhododendron Society.
They encourage enjoyment of the genus Rhododendron, by interesting you in the culture of
rhododendrons and azaleas.
National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens
The NCCPG seeks to conserve, document, promote and make avaialable Britain and Irelands
rich biodiversity of garden plants for the benefit of everyone
through horticulture, education and science.
Hebridean Island Garden
The community owned Island of Gigha is home to the world famous Achamore
Gardens. The garden extends to approximately 50 acres of natural
woodlands and contains a large walled garden, pond area and many rare
and interesting plants and trees growing in a frost-free climate, as
well as rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias.
Ardtornish Garden in Morven
The garden at Ardtornish has been sculpted out of a rocky hillside from every part
of which there are extensive views south west along Loch Aline to the northern
hills of the Isle of Mull.
Angus Garden near Taynuilt
Anguss Garden was created out of a mother's love for her son. Angus
Macdonald was killed in Cyprus in 1956 and the garden was started the
following year. Betty Macdonalds wish was for the creation of a
spring flowering garden within a natural woodland setting and for it to
be a place of forgiveness and reconciliation. The garden covers approx
nine acres and has been planted with many varieties of rhododendrons
and azaleas, as well as other flowering shrubs and trees.
